Week of January 30,2011

We will be reviewing the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt this week. Make sure you understand the causes and possible outcomes of these revolutions.

On Wednesday we will have a test on Chapter 13: Renaissance, Reformation, and the Scientific Revolution. We will be reviewing on Monday and Tuesday for this test.

How does the painting on page 478 show cultural blending? Look at the Spanish Cathedral pictured on page 479, how can you tell that religion is a vital part of the community? Look at the pie carts on page 480. Which group lost most of its population? What category was added in 1650? Why? What is being smuggled in the picture on page 481? Why do you think this smuggling occured?
