Remember, your interview project is due in two weeks.

There will be a major WWII and post war quiz on Friday.  We will be reviewing the material for most of the week. I am after school every day, please see me if you have any questions.

30(1)  The Cold War Unfolds  (966-974) (Double homework grade)
Identify the terms, people and places.
Read Witness History (966) what metaphor did Churchill use to describe the area sealed off by Soviet domination?
*Look at the picture on 967, when is the major Soviet holiday?  Why did they show their nuclear might?
*Look at the chart on 968, what type of weapon was limited by arms control agreements?
*Look at the Cold War World , 1977, on page 969. Where is the Soviet soldier pictured?  List 10 Cold War conflicts.  Why do you think the US and USSR did not want to fight each other directly?
* Read the Infographic on page 971.  Answer Thinking Critical questions #1+#2.
*Look at the picture of the supermarkets on page 972.  How do the two types of stores differ?

20th Century Interview Project

I hope you have an enjoyable and restful Winter break.  While your family gathers for celebration you can start on an interview project due in 3 weeks.
It is important to collect primary sources as we study the rest of the 20th Century.


I will pass out a 6 decade interview sheets.  Both sides of the sheet must be finished by  1/8/12.

2.      STUDENT MUST FILL IN SHEET.  Do Not  pass this off to Grandma to fill out.
3.      Due DateJanuary 8, 2013
1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s, 2000’s.  Only one decade is covered 2X. This must be by people in different generations (20 years apart)
Interview your parents and grandparents (if possible) on the decade your parents graduated from high school. 

5.      Other decades (1940’s, 1950’s…) can be completed for extra credit.
