Make sure to identify as many SPRITE EM effects of the plague as possible.

Read the primary source on Jean Calvin (350).  What type of life did he warn against?

Look at the map (353)  Identify the 5 religions mapped.  What three countries do you think would have the most religious strife around 1600?  (Hint it won't be Italy or Portugal. Explain why.
Read Global Connections about Salem. (354)  How many people were charged in Salem?  How many executed?  Why do you think the witch hunts ended soon after the Governor's wife was named a suspect?

This homework is due the Friday we get back from break.  Don't forget current events.  If you want to write an opinion piece on the end of net neutrality I will count that as a whole current event.
Make sure to explain what net neutrality is, and what the ending of it could mean to you and the Millennial generation.

What is Luther doing in the picture on page 423?
Read the biography of Martin Luther on page 425 and answer the question at the bottom. Look at the Calvinist Church pictured on page 427, how does it differ from Medieval Cathedrals?

Week of December 11, 2017 Honors

11(1) and 11(3) are due this week, as is the poster calling for a Muslim jihad.  Make sure to mention the legacy of the Crusades on the Muslim culture on the back of the poster.  An alternative assignment could be  a cheer or a video Muslim advertisement that will be accepted in lieu of the poster.
This week in class we will look at the HMA advances and its architecture (Romanesque and Gothic) as well as the impact of the Bubonic Plague.
