II. Although Clifford believes the Hunger Games is an allegory about capitalism, I think the Hunger Games has more in common with Fascism(Mussolini and Hitler) and New Imperialism (1850-1914)after the Industrial Revolution. The economy of Panem was based on exploitation, and explotation is the basis of New Imperialism and Fascism.
